During recent testimony, Michael Cohen revealed that he had occasional email exchanges with Alan Garten, the general counsel for the Trump Organization, in 2017 and beyond. Cohen clarified that he did not bill Trump for this work, stating, 'I didn't expect to be paid, and it was very minimal work.'
Cohen estimated that he spent less than 10 hours on work for Trump in 2017. When questioned by prosecutor Susan Hoffinger about the $420,000 he was paid, Cohen affirmed that the payment was unrelated to the minimal work he did for Trump that year.
