Michael Chandler has "no idea" which of Conor McGregor's personalities he will face

Michael Chandler has admitted he doesn't know if Conor McGregor will be nice or disrespectful to him when they fight later this year.

The UFC rivals are currently filming season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter together in Las Vegas before they fight in the octagon. Former two-weight champion McGregor will look to pick up his first UFC win in over three years when he faces Chandler, a former Bellator champion who has been calling for a fight against the Irishman since signing with the UFC two years ago.

UFC boss Dana White revealed that despite McGregor and Chandler seemingly being cordial with each other, they recently had a fall-out whilst filming an episode of The Ultimate Fighter. Chandler has been left puzzled by the multiple personalities of McGregor and is unsure what version of him will show up when they meet in the cage.

"When I see a guy in Conor who is so good at looking at the Venn diagram of good guy, bad guy, and guy in between. Who doesn't quite know when he's going to be crazy mean, crazy witty, crazy nice, crazy respectful, only crazy respectful just to set you up and lower your guard just so he can spit you with some venom the next day," Chandler told reporters.

"Conor on Monday is different than Conor on Tuesday, who's different than Conor on Wednesday and I freaking love it. I absolutely love it. I came in with my arms open, my hands open saying, 'I have no idea what to expect here.' I'm just trying to be authentically myself and let the chips fall where they may because you never quite know what's gonna happen."

McGregor is yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool ahead of his fight against Chandler, meaning September is the earliest possible date for the fight as 'Notorious' still needs to complete six months of drug-testing. Chandler admitted that he and McGregor have mutual respect for each other but don't often see eye-to-eye.

"I'm a pretty nice even keel guy but I don't really like Conor McGregor that much," he added. "I've got a ton of respect for him, but he and I don't see eye-to-eye in a lot of ways. That's a lot of competitive chirp. Even in his awesome trash talk, he's got a lot of respect for the purity of MMA. We have a lot of mutual respect for one and other, but I don't know if we like each other as much we thought we were going to. The good thing is we get to settle it with 4oz gloves."
