Michael Bublé says his outlook on life changed after son Noah’s cancer diagnosis

Michael Bublé has opened up about how his outlook on life changed after his son was diagnosed with cancer in 2016.

The Canadian crooner, 47, and his actress and model wife Luisana Lopilato, 35, faced every parents’ worst nightmare when they were told that the eldest of their four children, Noah, then three, had a rare type of liver cancer.

Both put their respective careers on hold while Noah, who is now nine, underwent treatment and he was given the all-clear the following year.

Bublé was warned that stepping back from the limelight could put his career in jeopardy, but he has no regrets over his decision.

Aside from meaning he could be there for his Noah and the rest of their family, warnings from record label execs proved unfounded, with his recent eleventh studio album Higher winning a Grammy at this year’s awards.

Speaking with The Big Issue, he said: “I had the right priorities but if I could give advice to my younger self at any point, through all of the good or bad times in my career and my home life, I’d say, be more present.

“I spent so much time worrying about the future, or even the past. Now I tell my kids all the time, we cannot change what we’ve done. And we have no control about what is going to happen in the future. So all we can do is be in the moment and be as present as possible. If we can do that we will live a happy life.”
