Leave it to the King of Christmas to design a holiday postcard-worthy setting that will impress through the centuries.
Michael Bublé, famously the figure behind many modern-day holiday classics, had (perhaps unintentionally) set an expectation that his Christmas decorations were as iconic as his songs – and of course, he didn't disappoint. His secret to success? A palette of red, white, and green – a timeless trio best seen on his Christmas tree.
Bublé and actress Luisana Lopilato turned their entire open-plan living room into a cozy Christmas grotto – complete with a textured red throw over their white sofa and a garland across their shelving. However, nothing sets the standard quite like their tree. Complete with oversized red and silver ornaments (and finished with a star); it demonstrates a classic aesthetic that has already impressed for decades (and, we expect, will continue to do so for many holidays ahead).

Bublé-inspired
A quick at Bublé's tree shows some unmissable oversized ornaments and this classic red hue is our favorite of all. We love the idea of spacing out these large ornaments (they come in a set of six) around a green tree to create a color combination that's effortlessly festive and beautiful. If Bublé agrees, who can disagree?
Classic colorways
Red and green ornaments are the ultimate in traditional, but the stylish matte finish on these feels uniquely contemporary. These would fit in perfectly with a natural green tree and a silver tree topper (like Bublé's).
Garland
When looking for a traditional garland, it's hard to beat this faux red cranberry option. Its berries and natural green colorway look wonderful styled down the center of a festive tablescape, staircase railing, or on a mantelpiece in your living room.
Red, green, white, and silver have influenced how we decorate in December for centuries, but their evolution is the secret to their longevity. There are countless variations of these tones –meaning they can look both traditonal and contemporary, depending on the exact shade we choose. For an aesthetic that will impress in a modern home this year, Rachel Stringer, a real estate agent and design expert at Raleigh Realty, recommends opting for a muted twist on Bublé and Lopilato's palette.
'Color schemes evolve, but the classics endure. Red and green have been staples forever, but playing with deeper shades or muted tones can modernize the look,' she says.
'One family I worked with used deep burgundy accents with gold, which gave their traditional decor a fresh feel while still feeling cozy. For others, sticking with monochrome palettes or neutrals creates a calmer atmosphere, especially if they want their holiday setup to blend seamlessly with their usual decor.'
Bublé and Lopilato have maintained a green, red, white, and green palette around their Christmas decorations – but we don't need to dress our mantel or sofa to tap into their look. Following their lead is possible with just a tree – no matter the size.
'Some traditions in holiday decorating seem to stick no matter how trends shift. A tree is a centerpiece for most homes, but it’s not just about putting one up – it’s about how it’s dressed,' Stringer says.
'A well-decorated tree with a cohesive theme, like soft metallic ornaments mixed with touches of nature, creates an understated yet elegant feel. Adding dried orange slices or cinnamon sticks not only looks great but smells amazing, too. Families I’ve worked with have told me they loved this idea because it brought a sense of tradition into their new homes without feeling overdone.'
