Michael Bisping jokes Jake Paul's opponent will be "old man" punched by Conor McGregor

Michael Bisping has joked that Jake Paul will call out the man Conor McGregor punched at a Dublin pub in 2019.

McGregor was captured on video striking a man at The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin after he turned down a drink offer from the UFC star. McGregor avoided a custodial sentence after pleading guilty to the assault three months later. He was also fined £850.

Bisping's comment comes after Paul recently included him on a six-man hitlist for his next opponent. Paul has been criticised for 'cherry-picking' opponents since moving into boxing, with the YouTube star beating now-retired MMA fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in his bouts last year.

Talking on his podcast ' Believe You Me ', Bisping slammed Paul after his recent call out, saying: "This came about because [Paul] started talking s**t and said I'm on his hit list. You know who else is on his f*****g hit list? Oscar De La Hoya. A guy that fought about 145lbs that retired 18 years ago.

"I don't think he realises that by calling out a 43-year-old fighter with no knees and one eye, I don't know if he understood; don't you understand, Jake, that you sound like such a little b****, a little p****? He [Paul] just needs to fight a boxer and stop calling out these guys.

"He started out with Ben Askren, who was 37 and coming off a hip replacement, then he went to Tyron Woodley who's 40, who's a wrestler with a right hand. Now he's calling me out and Oscar De La Hoya. At this rate, the next person he boxes is gonna be the old guy that Conor McGregor punched in the bar!"

Paul is targeting a return to the ring in August having not fought since knocking out Woodley in their rematch last December. Bisping accepted Paul's call-out and found a location for their fight after fears he would not be sanctioned given he only has one eye.

The YouTube star offered Bisping $1million plus a pay-per-view bonus for a potential fight, but only if the former UFC champion could post proof that he is no longer under contract with the promotion having retired from fighting in 2017.

Bisping then wrote: "Jake 'The Pretender' Paul. First it was 'fight me', then it was 'show me you can get licensed' and now it’s 'show me you’re not under contract'. Mate I wouldn’t give you the steam off my p***. Just accept the Anderson Silva fight which I know for a fact has been offered. Jake???"
