Michael Beale has challenged Rangers to rise to the occasion at home and abroad ahead of a double-header that could shape their season.
The Englishman will look to lead his side into the group stage of the Champions League with victory over Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening.
And pole position in the Premiership title race is then up for grabs on Sunday when Celtic make the trip to Ibrox for the first Old Firm clash of the campaign.
Rangers have recovered from their opening day league defeat to Kilmarnock by seeing off Servette in the third qualifying round, beating Morton in the League Cup and recording wins over Livingston and Ross County.
Beale’s side now have the chance to convert their 2-2 draw against PSV into a famous win as they seek to repeat their achievement from this time last term.
The huge significance of the coming days is not lost on Beale and he is confident Rangers have what it takes to lay down a marker of their intentions this season.
Beale said: “It’s a hugely exciting week if you’re a Rangers player and a Rangers follower and I’m no different as the coach.
“The two games we have coming up in the next four of five days is what it’s all about playing for this club.
“If you can’t enjoy it and you can’t seize the opportunity in front of you then you probably don’t deserve to be at our club.
“This is a huge moment so it’s important we give this game everything. It’s a final in that sense.
“With about 14 or 15 players moving on this summer and nine new players coming in, the more games you play you think your team will get stronger.
“It was a good victory at the weekend, a clean sheet and a step in the right direction in the league. I was pleased with that.
“Sat here now with no injuries and everyone in a good place mentally, I think it was the right thing we played. I think it was to our advantage that we played at the weekend.”
