Rangers manager Michael Beale has ruled out a January swoop for Everton midfielder Tom Davies.
Davies, who is out of contract at the end of the current season, has been linked with a potential exit during the current transfer window as he continues to struggle for regular first-team minutes.
The 24-year-old has started only four Premier League matches this term, having been pushed further down the pecking order following the Blues' summer acquisitions of Amadou Onana, James Garner and the returning Idrissa Gueye. Injury issues have also thwarted his progress at the club, the biggest of his setbacks being a serious knee injury which ruled him out for the majority of last season.

Rangers are one club to have emerged as a potential destination for Davies, a rumour which gained further traction after Beale described the Everton midfielder as someone who 'used to kick my Liverpool under-23s team all around the place' when quizzed on the possibility of recruiting the Tranmere Rovers academy graduate.
But Beale has now moved to shut down speculation, telling reporters: "You caught me on the hop. There has been no interest from us in Tom Davies. I spoke about him when asked, but he's not going to be a Rangers player."
Opening up on his future during an interview with the Athletic last month, the Liverpool-born star admitted his current position is far from ideal and that he is open to an exit unless afforded increased opportunities at Goodison Park. “I love the club and the city but ultimately I want to play games, whether that be at Everton or somewhere else,” he explained. “If I’m not going to get that here, it’s something I’m going to have to think about.”
