Michael Beale rues Rangers chances as he brushes off Dons defeat with 'very different' Celtic challenge

Michael Beale says it will be a very different task against Celtic for his Rangers side reeling off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Aberdeen.

The Englishman watched his Rangers side lose in the league for only the second time under his tenure as Barry Robson's high-flying Aberdeen smashed the Light Blues with a second-half onslaught to end their major Pittodrie hoodoo. It was an afternoon to forget for Beale and co as on-loan Celtic man Liam Scales scored a stunner before Bojan Miovski bulleted a header past Allan McGregor.

But with such a huge showpiece Scottish Cup semi-final with Ange Postecoglou's next weekend, in which Beale already spoke of the importance of the penultimate derby of the season, the Light Blues boss is expecting a very different kind of game and challenge.

He told BBC Sportsound: "It will be a completely different game next weekend. The way it will be played, there won't be anything like a hangover.

"If anything it should be a jolt, a reality to one or two. Before the game we knew how ruthless we have to be and that's something that's been dragging around a little bit.

"We miss a lot of chances that we create. Going forward if we want to win things and compete over the course of the season we have to be more decisive in the boxes. Today it was there for us - the best football was played by Rangers.

"That's clear, but we lost the game 2-0."
