Michael Beale wants to tie down Ryan Jack to a new Rangers deal.
The midfielder is one of a number of stars including Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos who are out of contract in the summer and could start speaking to interested clubs come January 1 about a pre-contract agreement. The 30-year-old was handed a spot in the starting team to face Hibs and also got on the scoresheet in the five-goal thriller under the lights at Ibrox.
New Rangers boss Beale says naming the midfielder in his first starting side shows exactly what he thinks of the Ibrox star. He says he is part of the Light Blues' best eleven at this time as he offered his strongest hint yet that he's set for a run in the side. Talks are yet to get underway between both parties, but it is something the new boss wants to get done. He said: "In playing Ryan in the first game and him scoring against Hibs, he is doing everything he can. But obviously I showed what I think of Ryan by selecting him in my first game.

“In the last few months, for different reasons, Ryan has not always been available so at the moment he is just focusing on enjoying his football and being available.
"He was asked a question and he answered it honestly and I will as well. At this moment in time Ryan Jack is in the best eleven players at Rangers. Why wouldn’t you want to keep Ryan Jack?”
Discussing his own future, Jack said: “I am up at the end of the season and I have not spoken to the club so far. I’m going to work hard, keep my head down, play my football and whatever happens will happen.
“Things outside football and my contract situation determines where your family is going to be. But for me I just need to keep playing football, focus on trying to play week-in, week-out at Rangers and then I will see what happens.
“I have been here five years and am happy at the club. I am settled and I love playing here.
“But it is one of those situations where I have not had that conversation with anyone. When that happens comes then we will sit down and see what that plan is for the future.”
