Michael Beale says Rangers will benefit from not playing on dodgy pitches like they have in the last week.
A cut up Hampden was the scene for last Sunday's Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen, before they travelled to Kilmarnock's artificial Rugby Park surface on Wednesday for a thrilling 3-2 Premiership victory. They recorded their third win of the week in Perth on Saturday by beating St Johnstone 1-0 thanks to a Borna Barisic strike.
Scotland has been hammered by rain and freezing conditions in the last week and Scottish football pitches have felt the brunt of this, with McDiarmid Park no different. It provides an energy-sapping challenge for players and Beale is pleased with how his side have dealt with a tough schedule of fixtures. But when asked whether Rangers were running on empty, the Light Blues manager replied: "We don't need three games in six games away from Ibrox on two cow fields , that's what we don't need."
There's no midweek games for Rangers now as they forward to their Premiership return. They meet St Johnstone again at Ibrox next weekend.
