Michael Beale details Rangers 'behind the scenes' plan and Ibrox confidence factor

MICHAEL BEALE has revealed he has been working on a Plan B for his Ibrox attack as Rangers attempt to finish with a flourish this season.

The Englishman extended his unbeaten Premiership run since succeeding Giovanni van Bronckhorst as boss with a dominant display against Hibernian on Wednesday night.

A James Tavernier penalty cancelled out an unfortunate own goal from Connor Goldson and Rangers never looked back at Easter Road.

Antonio Colak gave the visitors the lead before the break and then rounded off the scoring after Fashion Sakala had netted his second goal in as many games.

Beale stuck with the same starting line-up that saw off Kilmarnock at the weekend and was rewarded with the finest performance of his tenure so far.

Rangers have dropped just two league points on Beale's watch but their relentless run of form has not been enough to see them reduce the deficit to Old Firm rivals Celtic in the top flight title race.

There have been reasons to be optimistic for the future, though, and the Ibrox boss is pleased with the progress that has been made overall as January signings Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin have made their mark on the side.

Beale said: "We have been working on something else behind the scenes in terms of the way we want to play and the energy we want up the pitch and a different shape.

"It is just finding the moment when because we are in the middle of a busy schedule. We won 3-1 at the weekend and were 3-0 up at half-time, [on Wednesday night] we have scored four goals and we have got a big cup quarter final coming up.

"Although we are working on other things behind the scenes, at the moment what we are actually doing is very good anyway.

"That is seven away wins consecutively. It is not easy to do that. All we can do is, as a team, keep trying to get better.

"Sometimes I am a bit bemused by the belief is not there because when they actually play how I know they can they look a very good team."
