Michael Beale confirms fresh Rangers injury concern for Antonio Colak

Michael Beale has confirmed that Antonio Colak has suffered another injury blow.

The striker returned to the Gers starting line-up for their trip to Tannadice today.

The Ibrox side beat Dundee United 2-0 in the Premiership encounter, with second-half goals from Fashion Sakala and Malik Tillman securing all three points.

The Croat was played from the start as Alfredo Morelos was dropped to the bench.

However, the striker's swapped places for the second-half, with Beale confirming another knock for Colak in the latest injury blow for the club.

He told Sky Sports: “We had a lot of control in the first-half but lacked a bit of quality in the final third. That’s what we spoke about at half-time with our passing and movement off the ball.

“We scored two good goals and I’m delighted. Jon’s had very little to do in the game. Defensively at the moment we’re starting to look quite strong. I’m seeing a little bit more rhythm and cohesion in the attack.

“The only downside from today’s game was losing Antonio to an injury at half-time, that’s the only downside.

“The flip side, the big positive is to see Kemar Roofe back. I’m very pleased with that.

“He just felt a problem at the lower part of his calf, so the top of his achilleas area. It’s a different injury so it’s really frustrating for him. He can’t catch a break at the minute.

“We don’t think it’s anything major but we didn’t want to take the risk in the second-half.

“Thought Alfredo came on and did very well. He knitted the game together. We scored two really good goals.”
