Michael Beale beams over Rangers killer instinct but demanding boss admits 'I want more'

Demanding Ibrox boss Michael Beale watched Rangers put on a glorious Gorgie show as they ripped Hearts apart, then declared: I want more.

Two goals from Alfredo Morelos either side of Malik Tillman’s first-half strike sealed a dominant Tynecastle triumph for the Light Blues as they put on their best show yet under their new boss. But Beale admits he was left frustrated Rangers did not rattle up an even bigger victory after seeing THREE strikes ruled out for offside.

Hearts keeper Zander Clark - who was beaten from open play from the first-time since he replaced Craig Gordon - also had to pull off a string of big saves to keep the score down. But Beale - who notched up his 10th win in charge of the Light Blues in the capital - said: “I’m over the moon with that. But we need to be more ruthless because we’re creating a lot. I just said to the players that they’ve set a good standard but I still want more because we could have scored more.

“I was really pleased with the display playing against opponents who are riding high and coming into the game with lots of confidence. We knew we had to be at our very best out of possession. We were excellent in terms of regains and caused lots of problems for Hearts. When we played, we caused problems. We had to be good defensively and won a lot of the duels.

“We showed a different side tonight. We weren’t quite so slow and went for the kill quickly. I picked a team to score goals and Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala and Alfredo were fantastic. Zander Clark had good game but we were wasteful at times. We did good things well and we should demand more from each other. Against St Johnstone at the weekend we missed eight to 10 chances and tonight a lot of our approach and defending was fantastic but we should keep rewarding ourselves in the final third.

“I was delighted with three but it could have had more.”

Beale is yet to suffer defeat after two months in the Ibrox hot seat but this was the first time his team has dominated from start to finish. But the Light Blues boss still isn’t satisfied.

Asked of this was the best display his men have produced so far, he said: “In parts yeah.

“We’ve had to show different things across the games.

“It’s been coming and it was a more complete performance tonight because Hearts had a real go.

“It gave us space to go back at them. When the ball was played up we stole it and were incisive and looked dangerous all night.

“If we can get that last pass more often we’ll score but they won’t get too much of a ‘well done’ because we have a game in three days against Ross County.”

Morelos would have had a hat-trick had he not carelessly wandered offside after finding the net inside five minutes.

Sakala was also guilty of setting on too early after seeing a couple of goals chopped off.

But Beale is just pleased to see his Colombian strike partner back looking like his old self after notching up his sixth goal in his last seven starts.

“He’s very happy and if he’s happy then I’m happy for him,” said the former QPR gaffer.

"He’s playing well. A lot is thrown at him but the boy we see every day, he seems very calm and is enjoying his football.

“He could have had three or four at the weekend. I mentioned that and he rewarded us.

“He’s frustrated because I’ve brought him off on two goals with 15 minutes to go again. He gave me that little look but I’m keeping him on his toes.
