Mouse droppings were found all over a cluttered and flaking Liverpool takeaway.
Namma Ooru Dosa was given the worst food hygiene rating possible after an inspection by Liverpool Council. Inspectors awarded the zero star hygiene rating after finding mouse droppings throughout the premises on the floor and shelving units.
The hand wash basin was buried in clutter in a side storage room with no running water, soap or paper towels.

The takeaway, on Mill Lane, in Old Swan, used a dirty wooden door as a lid to a freezer. The inspectors told the business to replace the freezer or use a properly insulated lid which can be easily cleaned.
The outlet to the extraction system was left open and the visible parts were filthy with fat. Inspectors warned the accumulation of grease can drip back into the food products.
The South Indian and Sri Lankan takeaway was warned this lack of maintenance could cause a fire hazard which will not be covered by their insurance.
Many of the walls in the kitchen and storage room had flaking paintwork, while brickwork to the external drains was also heavily encrusted with food waste. The report said this provided a food source to rodents.
The takeaway displayed a five-star hygiene rating in the window and on its menu flyers when it should have had an 'awaiting inspection' sticker as it had not yet been rated. The report told the Namma Ooru Dosa this was a 'misrepresentation of the status of the business'. The owners were also told to remove the sticker and to not distribute the flyers.
The takeaway was told to remove deteriorating areas to the Artex ceiling in the back preparation room and replace the worn and dirty chopping boards. The report said the backyard, under stairs storage, rear left-hand food room, washing up and food preparation areas were badly cluttered with disused equipment.
The inspectors said there was little knowledge of basic food hygiene or safety in the business. Food handlers have been advised they should be trained and staff will be asked about basic food hygiene awareness at the next inspection
The takeaway has also been told to clean the floors regularly and stop covering the shelves in cardboard. It was also told to thoroughly clean and sanitise the light switch and door handles to the toilet regularly.
The restaurant has no reviews on Trip Advisor or Google but don't have one review on Facebooked rated at one star.
