Micah Richards believes the timing of Darwin Nunez's movement means he would fit in perfectly at Manchester City.
Nunez caused endless problems to the City defence during the Reds' 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat at the Etihad on Thursday. The Uruguayan could well have hit a hat-trick were it not for some snatched finishing, after finding space behind the home backline on three occasions.
It was an all-action 90 minutes that typified Nunez's six-month spell on Merseyside, with the 23-year-old at the heart of everything good about Liverpool's attack, but in the end lacking a little finesse at the final hurdle. Nevertheless, former City defender Richards praised the Reds forward for his ability to constantly get in behind.

"The timing of his runs is brilliant," Richards said. "If he is in a Man City side today, he could have scored six because the timing of his runs is perfect."
Richards then honed in on a first-half chance in which Nunez sprung a City offside trap to close in on Stefan Ortega, but a snatched finish saw the Liverpool man drag his effort wide - similarly to his other two good chances.
Richards added: "I thought he could have done better, this one here he’s sort of just dragged it. I like the way he timed his run here, and it’s just come off his shin."
Nunez has often been mocked by opposition fans for his finishing, but a return of nine goals from the first half of the campaign suggests the former Benfica man is getting more right than wrong. He and Liverpool will hope to truly kick-start their post-World Cup run of form when they travel to Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
