Micah Richards agrees with David Moyes about Liverpool and West Ham after Anfield clash

Micah Richards agrees with West Ham United manager David Moyes that the Hammers were unlucky not to take anything from their game with Liverpool at Anfield.

West Ham lost out 1-0 on Merseyside despite a spirited display on Wednesday night, with Jarrod Bowen having a penalty saved by Alisson in the first half after Darwin Nunez had opened the scoring for the Reds. Tomas Soucek was also denied an equaliser late on by a superb challenge from James Milner.

David Moyes felt his side deserved something from the game, with the Hammers boss left with a familiar feeling after another defeat at Anfield as he spoke of his disappointment at not taking anything.

And former Manchester City defender Richards said he too felt that West Ham were unfortunate not to take home at least a point back to east London.

Speaking on BBC programme Match of the Day, Richards said: "They were so unlucky. We have to give VAR a bit of credit, because I think they have got the penalty decision right. But Alisson produces a good save [to deny Jarrod Bowen].

"And then Soucek's late chance, when I first saw it I am thinking he has missed an absolute sitter, but no, it is 36-year-old James Milner coming off the bench to save the points for his team. That is commitment at its finest."
