Micah Parsons mocked Jalen Ramsey playing for the Lions, as if the Cowboys are any better

With free agency on the horizon and the NFL’s franchise tag window opening on Tuesday, there’s bound to be lots of speculation about the futures of various big names. One of them is the Los Angeles Rams’ Jalen Ramsey. The star cornerback has an out in his current contract and could potentially be released by L.A. before it incurs a $26.7 million cap hit.

On Monday, a rumor surfaced that the Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown was trying to recruit Ramsey to Detroit in case of any release. Drawing attention to the rumor and his future, Ramsey responded to it on Twitter, asserting that he loves St. Brown and Jared Goff but would otherwise stay quiet on what might be next.

Of course, Ramsey might have never seen the tweet if it wasn’t for the Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons addressing it directly himself. The pass-rushing dynamo kept his thoughts on a potential Ramsey move to Detroit brief and a bit disrespectful:

I’m sorry, but why does it seem like Parsons is ignoring that he plays for the Cowboys, the team everyone seemingly loves to make fun of? You know, the organization with as many NFC title game appearances (zero) as the Lions since the mid-1990s?

The Cowboys are a squad that seemingly finds a way to self-combust every January the moment it’s pressed, even in the slightest adverse manner, and here Parsons roasts the Lions as if it’s unheard of that a legit difference maker would want to play for them or play in Detroit.

Beyond that, after winning eight of their last 10 games and almost sneaking into the playoffs in 2022, I’d argue Detroit has a brighter future than Dallas. Dan Campbell and his crew really seem to have something special cooking.  If Parsons is hanging his hat on getting a Wild Card playoff win over a 45-year-old Tom Brady, I’d advise him to raise his standards.

The Lions might not be one of the NFL’s punching bags anymore. The Cowboys definitely still are. Oh well. I suppose Parsons can try to back up his words when Dallas and Detroit meet again (the Cowboys won in 2022) sometime next season.

Don’t mind me. I’ll be saving the receipts on this one.

Here was how Twitter reacted to Parsons' joke about the Lions
