Micah Parsons Blasts Giants for Daniel Jones Decision During Cowboys Blowout

Cowboys star Micah Parsons was one of many Dallas players thrilled about the team’s 40–0 annihilation of the Giants on Sunday.

The two-time All-Pro edge rusher recorded one of seven Cowboys sacks to go along with a defensive unit that generated two interceptions—one that was returned for a touchdown—and five forced fumbles on a rainy night at MetLife Stadium.

However, in an episode of The Edge with Micah Parsons podcast, the two-time Pro Bowler took a shot at the Giants for leaving Jones in the game throughout the entirety of an ugly blowout.

“It’s called protecting your guy,” Parsons said on his podcast. “I don’t think Daniel Jones should have been in that game in the fourth quarter. …They should have … pulled him out and barring injury, their season would be over with without Daniel Jones. That’s your franchise quarterback and he’s sent out there with a backup offensive line still getting sacked and hit. … I just didn’t understand or maybe it was a prove-it moment by the Giants or … a learning lesson, who knows.”

Jones finished the game with 104 yards on 15-of-28 passing and two interceptions. He was also sacked seven times. Offensively, the Giants were limited to 171 yards of total offense with 108 coming on the ground.

Parsons and the Dallas defense punished Jones and the Giants on Sunday, and the 24-year-old pass rusher declared the Cowboys defense as the best in NFL following the massive win. Dallas became the first team since 1999 to start its season with a 40-point shutout on the road.
