MIC's Louise Thompson suffered "major haemorrhage" amid health struggles since giving birth

Former Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson has shared another honest health confession to fans as she takes time out with son Leo and partner Ryan on holiday.

The former reality star revealed to fans that she suffered a "major haemorrhage" earlier this year, as the many health issues since giving birth two years ago continue to grow.

Louise, who gave birth to son Leo in 2021 to fiancé Ryan Libbey, has been struggling with her mental health after being diagnosed with PTSD following the traumatic birth of her son as well as ongoing physical health complications.

In her latest update she reveals her health prevented her, Ryan and Leo from heading on a much needed holiday as she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Writing on her Instagram, Louise told her 1.4 million followers: "WE MADE IT. We were scheduled to visit St. Lucia to stay with friends in early Feb but my health got in the way... AGAIN.

"I shouldn’t complain. In fact I should be counting my lucky stars that I was firmly on British soil when I suffered a major haemorrhage and had subsequent emergency surgery at the end of January."

She continued: "If our trip had been 3 days earlier the outcome is likely to have been very different. Goodness only knows what would have happened if I’d been flying high in the sky on a 9hr flight, or roaming around bare foot on a remote Caribbean island, but my instinct is telling me that I wouldn’t have survived.

"I know I needed severallllll litres of life saving blood/fluids etc. and I’m not sure what access to that sort of stuff is like abroad. Maybe don’t tell me. It’s not really worth stewing over too much. "

The pintsized reality star continued as she likened her life to the 1990s film Sliding Doors, as she wrote: "Life seems to be one big fat sliding door. Who remembers that movie featuring Gwyenny Paltrow? It’s one that I relate to quite a bit these days. One evening I’m laughing with an old friend whilst drinking tea and drowning in bubbles as we entertain our sons who are having a play date.

"She gave me some of her swimwear (I’m lucky to have lots of clever and creative friends who own independent brands) as a treat for my trip and a few hours later I have the courage to start packing. The next morning I’m back in the back of a van being blue lit to hospital.

"The trip is understandably cancelled and we are bummed x 1000000 because it had taken a lot of planning."

She revealed the health setback news impacted Ryan more than her as she added: "We were desperate for some sun, sea and vitamin d (as cliche as it’s sounds, everyone kept reminding us that it’s been a while since we’ve had a successful hot holiday) but equally I was SO grateful for the timing.

"The crap news was easier for me to digest than Ryan, maybe because I was the one in the hot seat. He’s scared and scarred for other reasons, including the things he’s had to witness going in and out of my body."

Louise also shared her happiness at being able to finally make their Caribbean trip as she wrote: "Gosh life is precious. Anyway, fast forward a few months and we made it. This feels momentous. A holiday has never felt more like a holiday."
