Miami and LSU have both enjoyed thrilling rides through this year's women’s NCAA tournament thus far. The Hurricanes, seeded ninth, defied expectations to make the program’s first Elite Eight. The Tigers are in their first Elite Eight in 15 years, and stand a victory away from their sixth Final Four.
LSU, however, hasn’t just made headlines for its actions on the court. On Friday, Tigers coach Kim Mulkey donned a garish, multicolor outfit for LSU’s 66–63 win over Utah in the Sweet 16—complete with a set of pink feathers.
Her getup drew laughs from her players, writers and fans, as well as Miami coach Katie Meier.
“I don’t know what Kim is going to wear,” Meier told reporters Saturday morning, per the AP’s Tim Reynolds. “But I’m going to wear overalls.”
Meier, like Mulkey, is a coaching veteran, having spent the last 22 seasons with Charlotte and the Hurricanes.
Miami and the Tigers will meet Sunday evening in Greenville, S.C. with a regional title and trip to Dallas for the Final Four on the line.
