In a thrilling overtime showdown, the Miami Heat emerged victorious over the Memphis Grizzlies with a final score of 120-118, securing their first NBA Summer League championship. Pelle Larsson's clutch basket from the lane broke the tie in overtime, propelling the Heat to the historic win.

This championship game set a new record for the highest-scoring final in Summer League history, with just the second game ever to go into overtime. The Summer League overtime rules dictated that both teams play to a target score of 120 points.

Josh Christopher was named the game MVP after leading the Heat with 24 points, supported by Kel'el Ware's 21 points and 10 rebounds, Alondes Williams' 21 points, Cole Swider's 19 points, and Larsson's 16 points. On the Grizzlies' side, Jake LaRavia stood out with an impressive 32 points, while Scotty Pippen Jr. contributed 29 points and 11 assists, and GG Jackson added 28 points.

The intense back-and-forth action saw both teams hitting crucial 3-pointers to force overtime. The Heat's Swider and the Grizzlies' Jackson exchanged shots, leading to the extra session. Despite the Grizzlies' strong defensive efforts, Larsson's decisive basket sealed the victory for Miami.

Reflecting on the challenging game, Heat coach Dan Bisaccio commended his team's resilience and competitive spirit in overcoming adversity. The Heat's undefeated run in the Summer League culminated in a well-deserved championship title.

Earlier in the day, Brooklyn Nets forward Jalen Wilson was named the Summer League MVP for his stellar performance throughout the tournament. The Summer League first team featured standout players such as Jackson and Pippen from the Grizzlies, Ware from the Heat, Jordan Miller from the Los Angeles Clippers, and Reed Sheppard from the Houston Rockets.

While Wilson earned the event MVP honor, the second team included players like Bub Carrington from the Washington Wizards, Donovan Clingan from the Portland Trail Blazers, Jaime Jaquez Jr. from the Heat, and Jarace Walker from the Indiana Pacers.

The Miami Heat's triumph in the Summer League championship marked a memorable conclusion to an action-packed tournament, showcasing the talent and determination of emerging NBA prospects.
