The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement to sign wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract, as reported by the NFL Network. The deal, which is expected to be worth up to $8.25 million, brings Beckham to his fifth team in the NFL.
Beckham, aged 31, has previously played for the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore, Cleveland, and the New York Giants, who drafted him 12th overall in 2014. He was part of the Rams team that won the Super Bowl during the 2021-22 season.
Joining a Dolphins receiving group that includes last year's receiving yards leader Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Beckham adds depth to the team's wide receiver corps. Hill and Waddle combined for an impressive 2,813 yards in the 2023 season, making them one of the most productive wide receiver duos in the NFL.
Beckham had 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns with the Baltimore Ravens last season before being released in March. After visiting the Dolphins earlier in the offseason, an offer was made, leading to the eventual agreement on the one-year deal.
Known for his exceptional talent, Beckham made a name for himself during his early years with the New York Giants. He recorded three consecutive 1,300-plus yard seasons and became famous for his spectacular one-handed catch as a rookie in 2014.
Traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, Beckham later joined the Rams and scored a touchdown in Super Bowl LVI before suffering an ACL injury that kept him out for the entire 2022 season.
The Dolphins' head coach, Mike McDaniel, expressed his excitement about the potential addition of Beckham to the team, highlighting the receiver's impressive career and the value he could bring to Miami's offense.
With Beckham now set to don the aqua and orange, Dolphins fans eagerly anticipate seeing how the star wide receiver will contribute to the team's success in the upcoming season.
