FORMER SNP MP Mhari Black and the voice of ITV’s Love Island Iain Stirling are amongst those announced to headline the first ever Paisley Comedy Festival in April.
The eclectic list of headliners also includes TikTok star Stuart Mitchell and Comedian Gary Meikle, who will take to the stage from April 3 to 5.
The event will take place at Paisley Town Hall, which went under a £22 million renovation in 2023.
Black, who often went viral for her passionate speeches in Westminster, had previously performed Her Politics Isn’t For Me show at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Having formerly served as MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South, her show has been described as “a first-hand, ruthlessly honest look at 21st century politics”.
She will return to the stage alongside one of the most recognisable voices on TV, Love Island’s Stirling.
The Bafta winner will attend the festival as part of his UK-Wide “Relevant” tour.
Glasgow comedians Mitchell and Meikle will also headline, with both having viral success on online platforms such as TikTok.
Tickets for all of the shows are on sale at www.oneren.org
OneRen Chair, councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, said: “We are so excited to launch Paisley Comedy Festival and reveal such a fantastic line-up for our first year.
“Laughter’s good for everyone – and we are sure it will be great for Renfrewshire as locals and visitors alike come into town and enjoy not just the festival and its high-profile stars, but more of what our region has to offer.”
Paisley Town Hall will also host Paisley Book Festival from April 25 until 27
