Mexico To Impose Retaliatory Tariffs On American Imports

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Tuesday morning that retaliatory tariffs on American imports into Mexico, along with non-tariff measures, will be implemented on Sunday. This decision comes in response to the United States' unilateral imposition of tariffs, which Sheinbaum stated negatively impacts both national and foreign companies operating in Mexico, as well as its people.

Sheinbaum mentioned that she is likely to have a call with US President Donald Trump on Thursday to discuss the situation. She expressed her disapproval of a White House statement regarding the tariffs, describing it as 'offensive and defamatory.'

Non-tariff measures will also be implemented in response to US tariffs.
