Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly been named as the 'ideal candidate' for the vacant Mexico men's national team job.
ESPN MX's David Faitelson has said that the Mexico Football Federation (FMF) are putting together a list of targets after their former head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino's contract expired after the World Cup last month.
The last job the Argentinian had in management was at Elland Road which he left after a four-year stint with the Whites last February and was replaced by Jesse Marsch.

"The candidate that keeps them [the FMF] up at night is Marcelo Bielsa, they want Bielsa," said Faitelson during an episode of Futbol Picante.
"If it's not Bielsa, there are other candidates."
According to the report, the other names on the FMF's list other than Bielsa includes Ignacio Ambriz, Matias Almeyda, Antonio "Turco" Mohamed, Guillermo Almada, and former Mexico coaches Miguel Herrera, Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti and Juan Carlos Osorio.
Bielsa is, of course, very familiar with the international management environment having been the manager of the Argentina men's national team from 1998 until 2004 and then the Chile men's national team manager from 2007 until 2011.
It's believed that the FMF are looking at rebuilding their squad after a poor showing at the World Cup last year when they exited in the group stage, breaking their seven-tournament streak of making the Round-of-16.
But whether Bielsa, who is notorious for ignoring job offers if his demands aren't met, will agree to take the job isn't yet clear.
