Firefighters from Mexico have joined the efforts to combat the Palisades Fire in the Los Angeles area, where more than 14,000 personnel are already on the ground. This collaboration was highlighted by California Governor Gavin Newsom, who expressed gratitude for the support from Mexico in fighting the wildfires.
On Saturday, Governor Newsom shared a post featuring a video showing an airplane displaying the Mexican flag on the tarmac of Los Angeles International Airport. In his statement, Newsom emphasized California's immense appreciation for the assistance provided by their neighbors during this challenging time.
In addition to the Mexican firefighters' involvement, Newsom announced plans to increase the number of California's National Guardsmen deployed to the Los Angeles fires. The deployment is set to double, with a total of 1,680 service members expected to be actively engaged in firefighting efforts.
The collaboration between Mexico and California reflects the importance of international cooperation in addressing natural disasters and emergencies. The joint efforts of the firefighting personnel from both regions demonstrate solidarity and a shared commitment to protecting communities and the environment.
