Major AI chatbot launches genius new features

Over the last few years, tech companies have begun prioritizing using artificial intelligence (AI) by increasing investments and conducting hours of research to enhance their user experience. This allows them to better understand their audience and provide further customization to deliver more personalization, helping them stand out from the competition.

However, delivering a more tailored experience also means these companies are gathering tons of personal data from millions of users, making some wonder if these tech companies may know us better than our family and friends do or even better than we know ourselves.

Meta reveals its new AI features to create a more personalized user experience

On Monday, Meta  (META)  announced it had made some updates and improvements to its Meta AI platform. It has gradually begun rolling them out across all Meta platforms in the U.S. and Canada, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

According to the announcement, one of the new features allows Meta AI to remember personal details from previous conversations that users have shared with it in chats. This will let the chatbot pick up important details based on the context of a conversation to generate customized and personalized responses for each Meta user while chatting.

The chatbot essentially stores information mentioned in previous conversations that is unique to the user. It then analyzes new messages and chooses relevant details it already knows to create tailored responses.

In addition to this new chatbot feature, Meta revealed another feature that allows for greater personalization to deliver relevant content recommendations that better align with individual users.

"While Meta AI is on track to become the most used AI assistant, our vision is to make it one of the most personalized AI assistant experiences ever created. One of the areas we’re starting to focus on is new features that provide information and recommendations tailored to individuals."

Lastly, Meta enabled recall features and tracking across all connected Meta platforms, allowing its AI to crossreference information and data it has gathered from a user and utilize it in other platforms to further optimize content and search.

Meta users cannot opt out of the new AI features

The Meta AI chatbot has access to all user information and data across all connected Meta platform accounts, and even if users want to get out of this feature, there's currently no opt-out option.

However, in the announcement, Meta informed users that "Meta AI will only remember certain things you tell it in 1:1 conversations (not group chats), and you can delete its memories at any time."

More Media News:

As Meta states, these new features are not just a way to gather user information without a purpose; they're used to create a better user experience through personalization.

"We regularly introduce new features for all of our products to find out what works and what doesn’t for our communities. With today’s news, we’re excited to bring more personalization to the Meta AI experience."

Netizens react to Meta AI's new features

Although Meta stated several times in its announcement that these new AI features are used to enhance users' experience and develop more innovative tools, some people remain skeptical about Meta's intentions.

Some netizens expressed their concerns about the new Meta AI features by commenting on a post on X about the news, "That's a bit scary" and "Very cool but kind of scary."

Others questioned Meta's use of personal data by sarcastically commenting, "I'm sure they'll use our data responsibly."

However, other users are amazed by the new features, expressing their excitement to push Meta AI's limits:
