Met Police Special Constable charged with sexual assault

Met Police sexual assault Police Ben Smith

A Met Police Special Constable has been charged with sexual assault.

Sergeant Ben Smith was charged with two counts of sexual assault on Thursday, February 16.

The assault is alleged to have taken place against two females in 2017 when the officer was off duty.

Smith, who is attached to the South East Command Unit, which covers the boroughs of Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham.He will appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday March 13.

He is currently suspended from duty.
