A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice following an allegation of sexual assault.
Carlos Correia, who was a special constable with the West Area Policing Command, was accused of two counts of sexual assault on a female colleague which reportedly took place outside of work.
The Met launched a criminal investigation in January 2022, but following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, no further action was taken against Mr Correia.
However, Scotland Yard determined that he should face misconduct proceedings, during which Mr Correia was found to have violated police standards of professional behaviour.
The hearing, which concluded on Tuesday, January 28, found he had engaged in “discreditable conduct proven at gross misconduct,” a spokesperson for Met Police said.
Mr Correia was dismissed without notice.
Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall said: “I commend the bravery of the officer, who reported Special Constable Correia to police.
“Although SC Correia has faced no further criminal action, his behaviour fell well below what we expect of our officers.”
