Bristol could see some snow and sleet as temperatures drop next week. The Met Office reports that from Monday to Wednesday there is a risk of wintry showers, increasingly confined to the coast
Rain and strong winds are sweeping across the UK through this morning with the potential for 60-70 mm of rain over the high ground of South Wales. Yellow warnings for rain have been issued for Wales and western parts of England.
A Yellow warning for wind and rain has also been issued for Northern Ireland from Saturday afternoon through to the early hours of Sunday morning. Gusts could reach up to 65 mph while rainfall totals could reach 40-50 mm over higher ground in the north.

Low pressure is driving a wide area of rainfall and gusty winds across the UK through this morning. The strongest wind and rain will clear England and Wales by mid-afternoon leaving occasional blustery showers. Further north, it will turn colder with showers turning to snow over high ground.
Chief Meteorologist, Andy Page, said: “After what has already been a wet start to January, further wet and windy conditions will move across the UK this weekend. With the ground already saturated in parts of the UK this additional rainfall could bring disruption, particularly in the west. Check online to for the latest flood warnings in your area.”

Sunday: Heavy showers gradually easing ahead of more persistent rain arriving later. Feeling rather cold in the initial strong winds, but these easing into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Temperatures falling further into next week with frosty nights. A mixture of sunny spells and showers, falling as sleet or snow at times but increasingly confined to coasts.
