A weather map released by the Met Office shows exactly where and when it predicts thunder will hit the UK this weekend. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 28C in Nottingham over the next two days and it is expected to remain warm well into next week.
But a yellow thunderstorm warning is currently in place across much of the UK, including Nottinghamshire, and will remain until Sunday, June 11, at 9pm. Weather maps released by the agency show where and when we could be hit by storms.
It shows areas of Nottinghamshire could expect thunder between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday, June 10 and 8pm on Sunday, June 11. Temperatures overall will hit highs of 28C at 2pm on Saturday and 27C by 4pm on Sunday, The Met Office predicts.
Going into next week, the weather will remain mostly dry and sunny, with just some rain forecast on Monday, June 12. For the rest of the week, there will be highs of 26 C and sunshine.
