Met Office weather forecasters say heavy snow will hit Nottingham tomorrow morning

Snow is set to fall across Nottinghamshire tomorrow morning (February 27).

The Met Office says there is an 80 percent chance of 'heavy snow' falling between 7am and 8am on Thursday, and there will be a lower chance of it hitting the county from 6am until around 10am.

The cold spell follows days of strong winds and widespread flooding which came as a consequence of Storm Ciara on Sunday, February 9 and Storm Dennis on Sunday, February 16.

Temperatures will drop to around one degrees Celsius, while it will feel as if it has dropped below freezing.

Towards the afternoon, there is a further chance of rain before the sun comes out between 2pm and 5pm.

The Met Office says: "Heavy snow changing to light showers by lunchtime."

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice is also in place until 10am today (Wednesday, February 26).
