Met Office weather: Bristol hour-by-hour forecast on 'hottest day of the year' so far

Forecasters are expecting today (May 30) to be the hottest day of the year so far. According to the Met Office, the mercury could reach 25C in parts of the UK.

In Bristol, temperatures are expected to hit 21C this afternoon. The outlook suggests we will see the highest temperatures between 3pm and 6pm.

Bristol will wake up to conditions between 10C and 12C this morning before it gradually warms up. By midday, the mercury is expected to reach 17C.

It will then get hotter as temperatures hit 20C by 2pm. It will remain at 21C between 3pm and 6pm before cooling down into the evening.

At 8pm, the temperature is expected to be at 18C before dropping to 15C at 10pm. The sun will shine throughout the day with minimal cloud coverage expected.

Today: Early cloud will become increasingly confined to the far north and east, where it will feel cool. Otherwise it will be dry with plenty of warm sunshine. Breezy across the far north and across some southern areas.

Tonight: Remaining cloudy in the far north, and cloud spreading from the North Sea into many eastern, central and southern areas, giving patchy drizzle. Clearer elsewhere. Patchy frost in the north.

Wednesday: Low cloud breaking to give sunny spells for many, and becoming warm in the west. Remaining cloudier and cooler though in the far north and across North Sea coastal counties.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: High pressure will maintain largely fine weather. The west will be warmest and sunniest, with low cloud overnight becoming mainly confined towards the far north and east by day.
