Nearly one month's rain will batter some parts of the UK this weekend during the thunderstorm heatwave.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by Met Office for thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, with large swathes of the country, including all of Wales, the Midlands and parts of the Northwest of England affected.
Torrential rain and gusty winds will come with it, with flooding feared in some spots.
"We will see, during the thunderstorms, 30 to 40mm of rainfall, and more in some locations," Met Office spokesperson Ollie Claydon told the Mirror.
"In some spots, we could get more than that, potentially 60mm or possibly more."
The Met Office is unable to pinpoint the exact locations - or times - of the heaviest rainfall at this stage - although dozens of counties are subject to the weather warning.
The average rainfall in June for the UK is 77.2mm, according to Met Office. It stressed, though, it isn't uncommon for the UK to experience large portions of monthly rainfall in a short space of time due to accumulation.
Nevertheless, the rain will be stark contrast to the balmy sunny skies most of the nation are enjoying today and experienced on Wednesday. Temperature peaked at 24.9C in Bude, Cornwall, on Wednesday and are expected to rise further this week - despite the large chance of showers too.
Mr Claydon added: "Temperatures are expected to rise to 30C this week, even on Saturday, when the weather warning is in place.
"Then they'll fall gradually from then, so Sunday we expect 29C, and on Monday we expect 28C.
"Conditions change on Saturday with the warm pressure moving in from the south. We will have high temperatures on Saturday, but also these thunderstorms, particularly in Wales and Southern England.
"It'll be sunshine and showers though, as further north and in Scotland, it'll be drier and brighter on Saturday."
Showers will move north on Sunday - though the risk of thunderstorms for Northern England and Scotland will lessen. The weather warning is in place from 2pm on Saturday until 9pm the same day.
There is a small chance of flooding to homes and businesses during this period, the warning reads.
The Met Office website adds: "Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and possibly even cancellations to rail services."
Today and Friday will be rather settled and sunny, forecasters say. Temperatures are expected to peak at 26C in and around Devon and Dorset.
It will though be increasingly windy for southern and southwestern areas today and on Friday.
