Though there's an unsettled and stormy autumn week ahead, the forecast from the Met Office shows the North East is likely to have a calm Tuesday.
But rain is likely to hit hard from Tuesday evening, before storms coming on Wednesday. The Met Office has a yellow weather warning in place for high winds.
The Met Office said: "Generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain at times, heaviest across western hills. Some drier interludes likely in the east. Strong winds at first, but easing later. Maximum temperature 17 °C."
