Wintry conditions have been easing their grip on most parts of the UK this weekend. But experts at the Met Office say a return to colder weather is likely for many during the early part of next week.
Schools were forced to close and travel problems were reported across the country - including in Nottinghamshire - on Friday (March 10) due to snow. Our photographer was out and about that day taking pictures of the wintry scenes in the area.
Temperatures have been rising since then. According to BBC Weather, Nottingham can expect highs of a balmy 13C on Sunday (March 11).

But enjoy it while it lasts - as the Met Office has said a "broad pattern is emerging" which is likely to see a return to colder conditions during late Monday and early Tuesday. Daniel Rudman is a Met Office deputy chief forecaster.
He said: "There is an increasingly strong signal for colder air to once again feed into the north of the UK during Monday. This flow is likely to extend southwards with much of the UK likely to be under the influence of colder conditions overnight into Tuesday.
"Tuesday is set to remain a cold day, but it is not expected to be as cold as conditions have been this week, and there will be brighter periods for most. There are likely to be some showers too, although any snowfall is expected be over higher elevations."
Further out, a weather system is forecast to bring milder conditions in from the west. This system will bring further rain, especially to areas of higher ground in the west of the UK, although still with the risk of another period of snow for the north, according to the Met Office.
Drivers are also being warned about another change in the weather. RAC breakdown spokesman Rod Dennis said: "Wintry conditions are far from over so drivers need to stay aware of the risks posed by a continuation of cold weather.
"Many roads are likely to be slippery as result of low overnight temperatures affecting surfaces that remain wet from either snow or rain this week, while fresh snowfall may affect isolated, upland routes. We urge drivers to keep a close eye on the weather forecast and heed any warnings, and to set out fully prepared – this means always having a winter coat and extra layers of clothing in the car, as well as food and drink, a mobile phone power bank and phone charging cable to hand."
Long-range Met Office forecast
March 17 to March 26
Cloudy for most on Friday with the best of any brighter spells most likely in central parts of the UK. Rain likely in Scotland, where it could turn to snow over higher ground, also over England and Wales, which could be heavy with a risk of thunder. Staying changeable into the weekend with a mixture of clear and sunny spells and rain, with a chance of further snow in parts of Scotland. Temperatures rather mild, especially in the south, but likely cold in the far north. Strong winds at times, especially around coasts. This theme is likely to continue into late March, with the potential for many areas to be wetter than average. Towards the end of the month, cooler and drier conditions are most likely, especially in the north.
March 26 to April 9
Confidence remains fairly low during this period. However, there are signs of more settled, drier conditions becoming established over the UK. Temperatures expected to be cooler than average with the greatest chance of significant rainfall and milder conditions in the south. Any wintry hazards are likely to be short-lived given the time of year. Temperatures are expected to trend closer to average as we move towards mid-April.
