The Met Office has issued an update as the UK is battered by Storm Claudio amid hopes for snow as we go into winter.
Britain woke up to heavy rain and gale-force winds this morning as yellow weather warnings are issued for more storms.
Brits can expect gale force winds and frost as temperatures continue to fall in the coming weeks.
Conditions should be sunny tomorrow, before turning chilly and wet on Saturday and Sunday.
WXCharts has predicted flurries of snow in Scotland and the north of England from November 9.
The Met Office has ruled out snow this weekend, there is a "chance" of snow later this month in the north of the country.
In its forecast for this weekend, the Met Office said: "Many areas seeing a fine day with lengthy spells of sunshine (on Friday).
"Scattered showers in coastal areas of the northwest as well as around some Irish Sea coasts.
"A chilly start across eastern areas on Saturday, ahead of rain pushing east through the day. This lingering across southeast England on Sunday, with showers elsewhere. Staying unsettled on Monday."
But the Met Office said snow could be on the horizon later this month.
Meteorologist Stephen Dixon previously told Express.co.uk : "The potential for some cooler weather increases from mid-November, with the coldest places most likely to be in the northwest.
"There will be an ongoing chance later in the month that any showers could fall as snow for a time in the north, with the high ground most likely to see the highest of any accumulations.
"There isn’t a signal beyond what we’d normally expect for this time of year in terms of snowfall."
In its long rang forecast for November 7 to November 16, the Met Office said: "Windy conditions likely with possible severe gales in exposed locations in the west.
"Continuing through the rest of the period, changeable and unsettled conditions are likely.
"Frequent spells of wet and windy weather, sometimes heavy, are likely further west and northwest, with an increasing chance of drier and brighter conditions in the southeast towards the end of the period.
"It will often be windy with strong winds and gales likely at times, particularly for coastal regions in the north and northwest. Temperatures are expected to generally be around average for this time of year."
In its forecast for November 17 to December 1, the Met Office added: "Into the second half of the month, high pressure is likely to become more persistent near the UK.
"This will lead to an increasing chance of drier and brighter spells, particularly in the southeast, and a reduction in spells of wet and windy weather around the remainder of the UK.
"Temperatures will start to trend downwards closer to the seasonal average with perhaps some colder conditions at times, with a greater chance of overnight frost and fog."
