The Met Office's "danger to life" warning is still in force as Liverpool continues to be battered by Storm Corrie.
The forecasting agency's yellow alert is set to end at 12pm today as fierce gales sweep across the region this morning.
The warning has been in place since 6pm last night as forecasters expect the windy conditions could lead to some travel disruption.

It said: "Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.
"Some roads and bridges may close.
"Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
"Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto susceptible sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
"Some damage to buildings and trees, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen.
"Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible."
Weather experts expect conditions to improve throughout the day before outbreaks of rain arrive later this evening.
The full forecast for Monday said: "Remaining gusty through Monday morning, with winds easing into the afternoon. Largely dry with sunny spells to begin but cloud increasing through the day ahead of outbreaks of rain later. Maximum temperature 7 °C."
The Met Office expects conditions to remain mild as we move through the week before heavy rain arrives on Thursday.
It continued: "Feeling mild through Tuesday and Wednesday, though rather cloudy with spells of light rain at times. Heavier rain sweeping through on Thursday as winds turn blustery again."
