Met Office predicts Nottinghamshire set for 15C spring weather shift

Just a few weeks on from the snowfall which caused disruption to travel and led schools to close, Nottinghamshire is set for some warmer weather. With the clocks having gone forward and the lighter nights a thing of the present, Met Office forecasters are predicting some spring-like temperatures - with highs of 15C.

A mainly cloudy day with outbreaks of rain on Wednesday (March 29), the showers will give way to the best of the week's weather that's expected on Thursday (March 30) - a day of possible highs of 15C. Forecasters say it'll be a generally mild day with sunny spells by late morning and into the middle of the afternoon.

There is, however, a chance of rain and the possibility of lightning by 3pm. The mild temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend, with cloud, and occasional sunny spells, broken up by showers.

Friday will see highs of 12C, Saturday 11C and Sunday 10C with much the same into early next week. On the outlook for Friday to Sunday (March 31 to April 2), the Met Office said: "Persistent cloud and perhaps heavy rain returning Friday. Cloudy Saturday, with spells of rain and strong winds. Rain clearing Sunday as winds ease. Cooler than recent days."

It comes just weeks after sustained snowfall across Nottinghamshire caused schools to close and led to disruption at East Midlands Airport.
