It is set to be a cloudy end to the week, but the sun is expected to shine on Friday afternoon, according to forecasters.
The Met Office predicts that all day Thursday will be a cloudy and grey day, with overcast spells and a very light wind. Despite the lack of sun, the day is expected to be mild, with highs of 16°C from early afternoon.
But Friday is expected to have more of a summery vibe, with sunny spells set to begin from 4pm onwards. Although it's not predicated to be a scorcher, it should still be a mild day, with temperatures staying around the same as Thursday's.
So for those planning a beer garden session or a BBQ, here is an hour-by-hour forecast for Thursday, heading into Friday in Newcastle.
