Met Office Nottingham latest forecast with cold and frosty mornings expected

Cold and frosty mornings will greet people this week with many likely needing to deice their cars.

The Met Office has given its latest forecast for the week ahead and despite the cold start it does seem to be getting warmer.

A yellow warning in fog issued on Monday remains in place for Nottinghamshire until midday on Tuesday, January 18.

Maximum temperatures will reach 8C on Wednesday, January 19 in Nottingham and there will be periods of bright sunshine during the day.

Here's the latest outlook from the Met Office for the East Midlands:

Tuesday:

Cold, frosty start with fog only gradually clearing to sunny skies through the morning with isolated patches potentially persisting into the afternoon. Sunshine turning hazy for most later as thin cloud spreads east. Perhaps turning generally cloudier for some. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday night:

Cloud continues thickening overnight, with isolated spots of rain or drizzle spreading southeast, mainly towards dawn. Chilly, but less cold than the previous night, with temperatures recovering by dawn. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

Cloudy morning with a few outbreaks of mostly light rain or drizzle possible. These clearing south into the afternoon, with sunshine following, but also turning colder with brisk northerly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Frosty start Thursday, then cold and sunny although winds easing. Cold, frosty again overnight Friday and Saturday, although cloudier with brighter spells. Temperatures recovering a little Saturday.
