Met Office issues weather warning as Storm Claudio lashes UK - forecast in your area

The Met Office has issued another weather warning for even more rain as Storm Claudio lashes Britain.

Heavy downpours are expected tomorrow in Northern Ireland with the potential for flooding and power outages.

The yellow warning is in place between 8am and 3pm on Wednesday.

Up to 30mm of rain is likely to fall in some areas, the weather agency said.

It added: "Following recent wet weather, another spell of rain, heavy at times and accompanied by blustery, windy conditions, will set in during Wednesday morning before clearing away eastwards later on Wednesday afternoon."

Areas affected are County Antrim, County Armagh, County Down, County Fermanagh, County Londonderry and County Tyrone.

The latest warning adds to those already in place tomorrow as November kicks off with a flurry of stormy weather.

Heavy rain is forecast in southern Scotland between 10am and 6pm, and fierce winds between 7am and 8pm along the west coast and much of northern England.

Northern Ireland

Rain will begin to pick up as the day goes on and temperatures drop.

Parts of the region will be affected by the yellow rain weather warning in place from 8am until 3pm tomorrow.

A cloudy morning on Wednesday with heavy rain at times affecting most places and will remain windy into the afternoon.

Scotland

A mixture of sunny spells, patchy cloud and scattered showers during a breezy day today before rain develops further tonight.

Wednesday sees a bright start replaced with blustery rain before heavy showers set in, with a risk of thunder and gales.

North West

A few showers are expected this afternoon with brisk westerly winds and then occasional heavy showers tonight.

It will turn windy tomorrow with coastal gales and a heavy band of rain is likely in the afternoon.

The wind warning in place between 7am and 8pm covers much of the west coast and North West of England.

North East

It is expected to remain increasingly dry and bright this afternoon with stronger winds easing.

Tomorrow cloud is forecast to increase from the west after lunch, bringing some heavy rain.

Wind will be strongest along the coast.

Midlands

Today is expected to see a few showers, mixed with sunny spells before heavy showers arrive from the southwest this afternoon.

Showers will continue tonight.

Tomorrow afternoon will be increasingly windy with a band of heavy rain expected.

South West

Bands of showers, heavy at times, are moving from west to east across the region, mixed with some sunny spells and wind.

Showers will get more intense into the evening but should remain mostly dry overnight.

Tomorrow will see afternoon showers and then heavy rain in the far west by the evening.

London & South East

Gales will continue along the English Channel coasts, with sunny spells and scattered blustery showers turning heavier as the day goes on.

Some showers today may turn thundery and winds will get stronger into the evening along the coasts.

A few spells of heavy rain will strike tomorrow along with coastal gales.
