The Met Office has issued a weather warning as the UK is set to be battered by heavy winds, with gusts of up to 65mph.
The yellow warning for wind is in place on Wednesday in the North West of England, particularly in Irish Sea coastal areas where large waves are expected.
Parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland will also be affected.
The weather agency also said there could be short term loss of power.
It is in place between 7am and 6pm.
There could be some delays to roads, as well as bus, train, air and ferry services.
Forecasters said there could be "some sudden strong gusts of wind possible at times".
Heavy rain is also likely, especially across parts of South West Scotland, Cumbria and West Wales.

Northern Ireland
The west of Northern Ireland, including Belfast, is expected to be hit by heavy winds on Wednesday.
But before that, much of the region is also covered by a separate yellow warning today for rain until 10pm, with flooding possible.
Despite the wind and rain, it is expected to be bright and sunny at times this week, with maximum temperatures today at 15C.
Scotland
A band of rain, heavy at times, will move slowly eastwards across western Scotland today.
Rain slowly clearing from the northeast of the country, with most parts seeing a mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers, these frequent and heavy in the south and west with isolated thunder.
On Wednesday, all areas will see rain at times, with certain parts heavy, with strong gales around the coasts - but brighter interludes at times.
North West
The North West of England will be largely dry today with some sunny spells, though a few showers are possible, most likely along the Lancashire coast and across Cumbria.
Tonight will see the weather turn increasingly wet as rain becomes heavier in the early hours of tomorrow when westerly winds will arrive for a time in daylight hours.
Wednesday is expected to be very windy with gales possible as the day goes on, as well as heavy showers.
North East
Heavy rain is due tonight after a breezy day, despite some sunny intervals, particularly in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, heavy overnight rain will clear eastwards leaving a windy day with blustery showers.
Wednesday is forecasted to be unsettled with sometimes heavy showers or long spells of rain.
Midlands
Rain is due in the Midlands this evening after a few rogue showers during the day in the west.
Tomorrow will have a brighter start before scattered showers set in, possibly heavy, though mixed in with some sunny spells and breezy winds.
Wednesday will be dry before a wet and windy afternoon and evening.
South West
Rain will develop as the day goes on, with Devon and Cornwall getting particularly wet as showers move up from the south into tonight with strong westerly winds developing.
On Tuesday, bands of showers, heavy at times, are forecast, and will move from west to east alongside some sunny spells and wind on the coasts.
Wednesday will see possible coastal gales and heavy rain.
London & South East
Heavy rain for long periods will strike tonight after sunny spells during the day as scattered showers develop.
Tomorrow is expected to see a dry start before a further band of locally heavy rain hits in the west of the region as windy builds up over the south coast.
Wednesday is forecast to see some heavy showers or long rain spells, with strong winds probable.
