The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across Wales. The warning covers Thursday (December 8) from 12am until 6pm, and will affect regions all over the country.
The weather agency has said that frequent wintry showers will spread into Northern Ireland through the early hours of Thursday, then on to Wales and parts of the West Midlands during the morning. These will fall on frozen ground in many areas, leading to the formation of icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
It added that showers are likely to fall as snow on high ground and perhaps more widely across Wales and the West Midlands during the day, with slight accumulations possible in places.

Detailing what to expect, the Met Office said that some disruption is likely due to icy surfaces. It warned of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, and said there would "probably" be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. "Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services," it added in a statement.
It comes after the Met Office has forecasted sub-zero temperatures across Wales until the end of the week. A spokesperson also told WalesOnline that there is a chance snow will fall on the west coast of Wales on Thursday. Meanwhile, BBC weather has also forecast sub-zero temperatures and some snowfall across the country over the next 10 days - including light snow showers in Cardiff on Saturday.
