Thunderstorms are forecast for parts of Wales and the Met Office has now issued another weather warning that torrential rain could hit parts of south Wales on Sunday night. The yellow alert is in place from 7pm on Sunday until 9am on Monday.
The band of heavy rain is expected to develop and move to the north west across the southern half of Wales during Sunday evening and will clear early on Monday morning.
"This will not affect the entire warning area, but within this a corridor of 10-20 mm of rain is likely and there is a chance that a few places may see 40-60 mm within 3 to 6 hours," the warning states. "There is also a chance of a few thunderstorms within this area." You can see here where the thunderstorms are forecast to strike.

This is the warning that has now been issued for Wales on Sunday evening into Monday morning.
The area of high pressure which was responsible for the last month of settled weather for much of the UK has drifted away towards Scandinavia, allowing a plume of warmer, humid air from the south to influence the weekend weather for much of the UK.
As the warmer air pushed further north and east through the weekend, temperatures have risen triggering widespread thundery showers. On Saturday afternoon there were more than 3,000 recorded lightning strikes, mainly in the north east of Wales.
The areas that are covered by the warning are:
- Blaenau Gwent
- Bridgend
- Caerphilly
- Cardiff
- Carmarthenshire
- Ceredigion
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Monmouthshire
- Neath Port Talbot
- Newport
- Pembrokeshire
- Powys
- Rhondda Cynon Taf
- Swansea
- Torfaen
- Vale of Glamorgan.
There is also a thunderstorm warning in place for the whole of Wales until 9pm on Sunday.
it says: "High temperatures on Sunday will trigger showers and thunderstorms across the warning area, some of which are likely to be torrential , perhaps bringing a few places 30-40 mm in an hour. The odd place, affected by multiple showers, could see more than this, perhaps in excess of 60 mm in a few hours, most likely across Wales and central England.
"As well as rain, additional hazards will be hail, strong gusts of wind, and lightning. Despite this, some places in the warning area will remain dry, or see only small amounts of rain, due to the scattered nature of the heaviest showers."
Once the rain clears on Monday, the Met Office says we will see another warm day with light winds, but heavy showers could develop in the afternoon with "possible thundery downpours". Temperatures could reach highs of 25 °C.
The outlook for Wales for Tuesday to Thursday says: "A high pressure builds, many will see lots of warm weather, with plenty of sunshine and a very low risk of the odd shower. Staying humid, perhaps feeling uncomfortable overnight."
