A THIRD weather warning has been issued for snow as Scotland prepares to be hit by wintry weather in the coming days.
On Sunday, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus and Shetland.
Set to come into force at 6pm until midnight, parts of the country will see snow showers with up to five centimetres falling in some areas.
The Met Office also warned there may be some disruption to travel as a result of the wintry weather and urged motorists to take care on roads.
It comes as a yellow weather warning for snow and ice covering a wider area is set to come into force in the early hours of Monday, expanding to more eastern areas on Tuesday.
As temperatures fall, snow showers are forecast across the Western Isles, Highlands, northwest, Orkney, Shetland and down the east coast of Scotland.
The Met Office added that there was the possibility some rural communities could become cut off amid the snow and ice.
