THE Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for parts of Scotland this weekend with many regions in the north to be affected.

The warnings have been issued for Friday (July 14) and Saturday (July 15) with no warning in place for Sunday (July 16).

The warning affecting Inverness and much of the Highlands will be in place from 8 pm today until 8am on Saturday.

The second, which is more southerly, will affect parts of Perthshire and much of Aberdeenshire from 8pm tonight until 8am tomorrow morning.

This comes as other areas in the South of England and Wales experience wind and rain warnings this weekend.
