A YELLOW weather warning for wind has been issued for parts of Scotland with the possibility of power loss expected.
The Met Office has issued the warning across the Outer Hebrides with winds of up to 60-70 mph expected along “with a chance of 80 mph”.
The warning is in place from on Wednesday November 8 from 8am until 6pm.
The forecaster said the following was to be expected:
- Some delays to road, air and ferry transport are likely with bus services affected
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
- Some short-term losses of power and other services is possible
The warning comes after a period of extreme weather last month, which led to hundreds of residents in Brechin being forced to evacuate their homes after the River South Esk breached its banks.
First Minister Humza Yousaf previously said it would be a "long road to recovery" for those impacted by Storm Babet.
