Met Office issues new 2-day weather warning for snow and ice across Nottinghamshire

A snow and ice warning has been issued for Nottingham and the surrounding county and it is expected to remain in place from Monday, March 13, into Tuesday, March 14. The warning is in addition to Monday's yellow alert for high winds.

Much of the UK is covered by weather warnings on Monday - just a few areas of Wales escape along with Cornwall and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland also misses the weather alerts.

The region's snow and ice warning is in place from 5.00pm on Monday and remains until 10.00am on Tuesday. The Met Office advises that rain, sleet and snow followed by ice is likely to have some impact to travel. It also adds to be careful on icy surfaces as slips and falls could cause injures and there will probably be some icy patches on untreated roads, pavement and cycle paths.
