Yet more stormy weather is on the way with another warning for wind in place across the North East.

Last week, Storms Eunice and Franklin brought strong winds, heavy rain and snow to parts of the region.

Clean-up is still under way which may be made more difficult now with more strong winds on the way.

The windy weather has not yet been classed as a storm - but the next named storm will be Storm Gladys.

Disruption to rail and road services could occur as well as power cuts in some places.

Winds are expected to reach 40-50mph in most areas, but gusts could reach as high as 60mph.

The worst of the weather is expected early on Wednesday morning, with winds set to ease during the afternoon.

The Met Office has shared advice on what to expect during the yellow 'be aware' weather warning.

What to expect

  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
